Hard on the inside, simple on the outside

Why the software that matters most is often the hardest to use, and how we design against it.

The problem

Compliance tools nobody opens. Records filled in after the fact. Standards that exist on paper and never reach the file. When a tool is painful, people work around it, and the risk it was meant to remove comes back.

How we build

We take the opposite route. The complexity is ours to carry; the person using the product meets one clear surface. Three rules keep us honest:

  • Start from the constraint: the regulation, the standard or the field practice, read before we design.
  • One screen, one action, one decision. Everything else stays behind it.
  • A person decides. The software drafts, scores and reminds; what commits you waits for a person.

Simple is not the opposite of serious. It is how serious work gets done every day, by people who have other things to do.
